A ministry of Stewartstown United Methodist Church
in partnership with our community

The mission of The Stewartstown Food Pantry is to love our neighbors by providing access to nutritious food to anyone experiencing food insecurity or financial hardship. Our intent is to treat each person with respect, dignity, and grace; provide opportunity to increase self-sufficiency, and instill hope. Our goal is for the pantry to have a meaningful, enduring impact.

Give Local York Stewartstown Edition 2026!  April 30 7PM to May 1 at 7PM

Stewartstown Food Pantry and local non-profits are participating in Give Local York (GLY) 2026. This is our largest fundraising event of the year!  We kick off this year with Spirit Night at Aviator Brew Hub. Thursday 4/30 from 4 - 8PM with 10% of the food sales going back to the pantry!

At 7PM on 4/30, the donation lines open!  You can use the blue button below to get to our GLY site and make your donations. No matter the size, we appreciate the support.  Share with your friends! The more individual donors we have making donations - the more chance we have to unlock matches, and other types of corporate donations!

The Stewartstown GLY Block Party will be 4 - 8PM on 5/1 on the lawn at SUMC. (More info to come on the Events Page - Red Link button below!)

How We Serve:

Food distributions are held every other Saturday
at the the Stewartstown Food Pantry, located in the garage behind 10 Church St.
Access the pantry from the SUMC auxiliary parking lot at 8 Church St. Stewartstown, PA
Anyone desiring assistance can receive food.
Those in need can enter the pantry and choose the foods, as well as cleaning and personal items, that are most useful to them.  Appointments are recommended to minimize wait time.  To make an appointment, fill out the contact form below or
call 717-501-6018 and leave a message.

How to Help

  • An easy way to help is to give unexpired, non-perishable food directly to the Pantry.  See our “Wish List” below for staples that we provide or items that we can use.
  • Partnerships with local food banks allow us to purchase food at tremendous savings.  Each $1 donated can provide four to six pounds of food for those in need.
  • As our pantry evolves, our volunteer needs are changing. Volunteers are needed to: collect, sort, pack, and distribute food, as well as keep our facility clean.  We need event planners and administrative volunteers to return calls. For more information see the Volunteers page and send us a message including your gifts and where you would like to serve - even if it is not listed!
